Brian founded the firm in 1996 and currently serves as the managing director and chief investment officer. A graduate of Thomas College, he has been a financial adviser since 1989. He specializes in comprehensive multi-generational wealth management for affluent families. His wealth management articles have been published in Downeast Magazine, Maine Biz, Maine Seniors and Forbes

Most recently, he was named to the Forbes Best in State Wealth Advisors list for Maine* and to LPL’s Executive Council for the fourth consecutive year.** In 2006, he was honored as the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year.***  In 2026 he and his wife Amy were honored by the  Chamber  with the Distinguished Community Service Award

He currently serves on the board of The Maine Community Foundation. In addition, he serves on the Investment Advisory Committee for Jobs for Maine Graduates. 

He has previously served on the boards of the Alfond Youth and Community Center Founder’s Club, the Thomas College Board of Trustees, Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, the Belgrade Lakes Association, the Belgrade Lakes Business Group and the Inland Hospital Foundation and was the founder of the Maine Majestix Field Hockey Club in 2006. 

Brian lives on McGrath Pond in Belgrade with his wife Amy and together they have three children Katie, Kristy and Jack and granddaughters Charlotte and Ellie. When not working, he enjoys boating, waterskiing, mountain biking and hosting friends and family at the lake in the summer... and skiing and snowshoeing at their Sugarloaf camp in the winter.

Bert Languet has worked in the field of financial services since 1989, having worked at State Street Bank (Boston), Waddell and Reed (Boston Area), and The Centennial Group (Lansing, Michigan) prior to moving home to Maine in 1996 when Golden Pond opened its doors.  Prior to working in finance, Bert spent his first year out of Colby doing cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts where he became interested in finance.

He holds a B.A. from Colby College, an M.B.A. from Thomas College and is a Certified Financial Planner Practitioner (CFP®). Bert has been published in the Journal of Financial Planning, Maine Seniors, MaineBiz, and wrote a monthly column on Socially Responsible Investing for the former Kennebec Business Monthly.

He is a past president of the Central Maine Youth Hockey Association, The Belgrade Lakes Association, and the Augusta Kiwanis Club. He has also served on the boards of the Maine Children’s Home, Waterville Opera House, Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce, and Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting. Bert’s favorite volunteer projects have been the playgrounds at the Maine General Medical Center and the Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter. He built and maintained an outdoor ice rink at the Alfond Youth Center for several years and was recognized as the “Outstanding Business Professional” by the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce in 2012*and the REM “Volunteer of the Year” for the Alfond Youth Center in 2013.Bert has been and continues to be a key figure in the Maine Pond Hockey Classic which benefits the Alfond Youth Center where he is known as the “Iceman” for building and maintaining the rinks on Messalonskee Lake at the Snow Pond Center for the Arts.

Bert and his wife, Sara, have been married since 1993 and have three children: Jose’, Gabriela, and Joshua. In addition to his volunteer activities, he enjoys fly fishing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and spending time at his camp in Lily Bay on Moosehead Lake and his pontoon boat on Great Pond.

Katie joined the firm in 2019 after beginning her career at Stone Coast Fund Services. She graduated from Boston University, where she was a member of the field hockey team, earning a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration. Katie earned her Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 2021. In addition to working closely with clients, Katie leads the firm’s client services team and oversees key firmwide initiatives.

Katie is actively involved in her community and currently serves on the board of Waterville Creates. She was recognized as a Mainebiz NextUp: 40 Under 40 honoree in 2022, highlighting emerging leaders across the state.* She also served as Chair of KV Connect in 2022 and was named Emerging Leader of the Year by the Central Maine Growth Council in 2021. Katie was the varsity field hockey coach at her alma mater, Messalonskee High School, from 2021 to 2024 and was named KVAC Coach of the Year in 2022. Outside of work, Katie enjoys skiing at Sugarloaf, spending time at the lake, and learning to play the guitar. She lives in Sidney with her partner, Kevin, and their daughters, Paige, Charlotte, and Eleanor.
